“5 for 5” Donation Challenge for Arts Hill

To celebrate the 5th anniversary of the Norristown Arts Festival, Gene R. Frank and Susan K. Howard have issued a “5 for 5” donation challenge.  All individual donations from $5 to $50 will be matched dollar for dollar up to a total of $2500.  If the challenge is met by December 20th, the Arts Council will have raised $5000 for exclusive use in the planning and implementation of the 5th Annual Norristown Arts Hill Festival.  This is an absolute challenge meaning if the Arts Council fails to reach the $2500 individual donation threshold; there will be no matching funds.

“By focusing on $5 to $50 donations, this challenge encourages broad participation,” says Eric Malm of the Norristown Arts Council. “The vision of Arts Hill is really about community building; this generous challenge helps show the importance of broad community support and encourages small donations.”

On View: November 15th - December 31st 2013
Opening Reception: Sunday November 24th 2013, 1:00pm to 4:00pm

Join us on November 24th, 2013 between 1:00pm and 4:00pm for Open Studios at the Norristown Arts Building.  Participating artists will also have an exhibition on display at Pagus Gallery.

Participating artists include:  Mary Beth Hughes, Anna Belle Loeb, Ute Simons, Lynne Solomon, Irene Baird, Cathy Gaspero, Ronnie Jean Kalman, Jaque Ferretti, Eleanor Schimmel, Tad Sperry, Ted Cohen, Anne Caramanico, Marianne Mitchell, Justin Snow, mish-el benjamin, Barbara Straussberg, Ryan Earl, Sharon Hicks, Gerry Tuten, Adrienne Jenkins, Mary Beth Kazanicka, Lala Zeitlyn, Timothy Hawkesworth, Ellen Berenholz, Pat Boyer, Judy Topkis, Edwina Brennan, Lisa Sylvester, and Sean Richard Doyle.

We believe the non-profit art space can be part of a strong foundation for an emerging artist’s career.  Established artists may also want to depart from previous bodies of work and start on a new path.  The alternative space provides a venue for taking risks.

Pagus is located in the Norristown Arts Building, a beautiful loft building that was once a costume factory. Since 1996 we have been a 501(c)(3) non-profit showing high quality work by local and nationally based artists.
