Public Meeting to Discuss the Norristown Mural Project
A MESSAGE FROM SENATOR DAYLIN LEACH
You’re Invited: Public Meeting to Discuss the Norristown Mural Project
I’d like to share with you some exciting news: a new plan is being considered that would bring murals to our community through the creation of the Norristown Mural Project. The project is being spearheaded by the Norristown Arts Council<http://norristownartshill.org/council.html> and overseen by the Philadelphia Mural Arts Program<http://muralarts.org/>, a public/private partnership with a world-renowned reputation.
This unique and exciting project will affect the entire community, so we’d like to hear from you. With that in mind, we are holding a public hearing to present the plan to you, get your input, and answer any questions you may have. I hope you’ll join me at the meeting to discuss the mural project on Wednesday, February 1 at 7 p.m. at Norristown Borough Hall.
I’ll be joined there by members of the Norristown Municipal Council and the Norristown Arts Council to present the choices and opportunities available to Norristown throughout the mural project’s creative process. Additionally, representatives from the Philadelphia Mural Arts Program will provide a multimedia presentation detailing the organization's history and past work as well as the potential community benefits available through the Norristown Mural Project. After the presentation, you’ll be able to ask questions and offer suggestions to board members and planners.
Murals are a great way to showcase the rich history and beauty of a community and demonstrate a commitment to arts and culture. With your help, I am hopeful that the Norristown Mural Project will further enhance Norristown’s appeal and remind people of ways the arts can serve our communities, especially our youths. I urge you to join us at this meeting so we can work together to produce a project that we can all be proud of.
WHAT: Norristown Mural Project Public Meeting
WHEN: Wednesday, February 1st at 7 p.m.
WHERE: Norristown Borough Hall
235 East Airy Street
Norristown,PA 19401
I hope to see you there!
