NORRISTOWN,
Pennsylvania (May 2, 2015) Norristown Arts Council presents the Crying Sam
Elmwood Jam 4 the Hill to be held on Saturday, May 2, 2015 from 11 am to 7 pm
in beautiful Elmwood Park, celebrating the 6th Year Anniversary of Norristown
Arts Hill, Norristown’s developing Arts and Culture District and the Arts
Community of Norristown.
Norristown
Arts Council and Crying Sam Entertainment are proud to feature 7 dynamic
musical groups from the greater Philadelphia region, along with The Times
Herald’s presentation of the third annual Montco Idol Contest, as another rich
offering of quality events in the Arts presented in the city of Norristown.
Acclaimed bands ranging in genre from folk, classic rock and jazz to gangster
folk, and R&B will party and jam in Elmwood Park for more than half a day
of free entertainment. The Times Herald’s Montco Idol Contest will showcase
this year’s three finalists from the ongoing yearly talent show as part of the
musical offering for the day. Audience members will participate in voting for
the overall winner. Crying Sam Elmwood Jam 4 the Hill is a free event gifted to
the community by Norristown Arts Council. Multiple food truck vendors,
including Willis Brothers World’s Famous Barbecue, will be featured for
spectators to eat during the day, as well as a beer station with chosen cold
favorites, sponsored in part by our friends at Gretz Beer. Community Partners,
Elmwood Park Zoo, Whole Foods Market Plymouth Meeting and Cabrini College will
be part of the Festivities for the day! Elmwood Park Zoo will offer free
admission to Norristown residents. Whole Foods Market will provide support for
the bands, volunteers and spectators.
Proceeds
from the Crying Sam Elmwood Jam 4 the Hill will benefit productions and
operations of Norristown Arts Council and Norristown Arts Hill as advocates for
Norristown’s Arts and Culture organizations. “This year, we are proud to offer
the community an array of fantastic highenergy bands on a day traditionally
reserved for The Norristown Arts Hill Festival. So many great bands wanted to
work with us this year, we decided to mix things up a bit by throwing a concert
for the community. There’s no better place to do that in Norristown than in our
beloved Elmwood Park Fire Chiefs’ Memorial Band Shell! The Norristown Arts Hill
Festival we’ve all grown to love will return in 2016. This concert will help us
raise money to aid Norristown’s existing Arts community, prospective new
members of that community, and the operations and productions of Norristown
Arts Council,” said Rich Rogers, President of the Norristown Arts Council.
A
show of support has aided in production of this year’s celebration from Cabrini
College, Crying Sam Entertainment (concert producer), Elmwood Park Zoo, Gretz
Beer, the Municipality of Norristown, Montgomery County Commissioners, Navitas
Marketing (marketing sponsor), The Times Herald (media sponsor), Whole Foods
Market Plymouth Meeting and stakeholders and partners in the greater community.
The Municipality of Norristown and its public service departments offer
invaluable support and human resources for this event. Concert Information,
including performance schedule and information about advertising and
sponsorship opportunities, is available atwww.norristownartshill.org and www.timesherald.com, and www.cryingsam.com.
