“5 for 5” Donation Challenge for Arts Hill

To celebrate the 5th anniversary of the Norristown Arts Festival, Gene R. Frank and Susan K. Howard have issued a “5 for 5” donation challenge.  All individual donations from $5 to $50 will be matched dollar for dollar up to a total of $2500.  If the challenge is met by December 20th, the Arts Council will have raised $5000 for exclusive use in the planning and implementation of the 5th Annual Norristown Arts Hill Festival.  This is an absolute challenge meaning if the Arts Council fails to reach the $2500 individual donation threshold; there will be no matching funds.

“By focusing on $5 to $50 donations, this challenge encourages broad participation,” says Eric Malm of the Norristown Arts Council. “The vision of Arts Hill is really about community building; this generous challenge helps show the importance of broad community support and encourages small donations.”

Remembering "Father John" D'Amico

The Norristown community mourns the loss of Father John D'Amico.  Many of us will remember Father John's performance at the Center Theater in 2010. A nice obituary appears in Philly.com:
